Saw this in Portland, ME. Low cost alternative to costly panniers complete with sticker set in testing now. Not sure when it will hit the open market.

That's the way to go! I love that kind of grass-roots innovation! It beats using them to store old motor oil - like I do!

I have 4 sets in my garage right now. Used mostly for storing crap and soaking smoker wood.
Paint'em black (Custom sets will include chrome (rattle can) lids), staple some used gym socks between them for the "throw over" effect and open the e-bay store!
