Regarding knobbies... Trials bikes without knobbies will sometime use tire chains as a low cost way to add traction during competition.  However, it is not all about traction.  In trials, ground clearance is also important.  This early example failed to consider both:

Very good...

...and I note with some awe the 50/50 run-flat front tire system as well as the grip heaters which work off direct feed, constant-ON 12-volt hard-wiring of the bar risers to the generator.

This is a bad-ass machine helping to redefine the meaning of "Trials!"

Note the horn and the bell, the bell must be used for "excuse me please" and the horn for "you need to get out of the way now!"

Good catch on the audible alert system, Wertywoo!

Maybe somebody can chime in with the background tech on the on-board oiler visible, as well as some of the other "Where's Waldo?" accoutrement that can be seen in this image?

There's much food for thought here to reverse engineering this land craft...
